Danny started working with Gene Watson in January 2012. He’s played around the DFW area with various artists since 1984. Prior to working with Gene, he was with Janie Fricke and Johnny Lee.
Born in California, but raised in Hurley, NY after about 8 weeks, his dad Joe Naccarato started him playing Electric Guitar at the tender age of 5 !!! At 6 years old, he broke the record for the youngest contestant at the American Guild of Music Convention in Chicago, and held that record for many years.
After a relocation to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, he started playing with numerous bands around town, honing his skills on Pedal Steel Guitar. In the intervening years, he has played all over the United States, 3 tours in Europe, and a few appearances on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. In 2003, he was the Terry Awards “Steel Guitar Player of the Year”.
In addition to his wife Suzi, he has a son Danny Jr. (Freddy), daughter Wendy Dougherty, a step-daughter Danielle Percefull, and 3 step-sons Jimmy, Beau & Cory Williams. Also 3 granddaughters; Miranda & Mikaela Naccarato, Hayden Dougherty, and grandson-to-be James Dougherty IV. He should also mention his mom Babs McKee, of Los Osos, Calif, lest he get whacked alongside the head for not including her 🙂
